Fucvam project, Uruguay

Support to Mutual Help Housing Cooperatives in South America

In South America, Mutual Help Housing Cooperatives (CVAM) continue to establish themselves as valuable solutions of Social Production of Habitat that allow low-income populations to access adequate housing in a context of severe housing deficits.

In this context, Fucvam, the Uruguayan Federation of Mutual Help Housing Cooperatives, has proven very succcessful. Today, there is a need for capacity building, increasing the visibility and systematizing experiences in order to increase the political impact of the CVAM model at the international level. Based on the work implemented by the National Training School, founded in 2013, this project seeks to support Fucvam in its mission to disseminate and consolidate the CVAM movement in South America.
